Shady Grove is an old Austin classic located off hippy infused Barton Springs road. The menu consists of Tex Mex, burgers, and ultra unhealthy but ultra delicious home cooked plates. It has a Texas down-home vibe that says ‘kick back a beer and stay awhile’. Shady Grove is known for its large outdoor patio where you can enjoy cold drinks under the shade of gorgeous and huge pecan trees. The real gem of this place is their live music that’s played on their outdoor stage. There will be a long line of people waiting to get in during their live music times so check their schedule and arrive early. I’ve enjoyed seeing Bob Schneider, Dale Watson, and Jitterbug Vipers perform here. It’s a fun, lively atmosphere perfect for clinking glasses with friends.
